Iwadonoyama Conglomerate Formation, Tsurushima Land Improvement District

You can observe the Iwadonoyama conglomerate layer. The outcrop consists of well-stratified alternating layers of conglomerate and sandstone, exhibiting a strike and dip of N85°E and 76°N. Graded structures are visible in parts of the conglomerate. The pebbles in the conglomerate are sandstone, mudstone, and chert originating from the Kanto Mountains (Shimanto Belt). The pebbles are approximately 3 cm in diameter, well-sorted, and rounded. A high-angle fault of N15°E and 78°W is visible near the center of the outcrop.
